International Dialogue Beyond Concepts and Minds

February 2007 - The International Dialogue "Beyond Concepts and Minds" held in Rishikesh, India, February 17-18, 2007 was a search for the mutual links between the ancient scriptures, philosophies and modern sciences, through the following themes: Medical & Health Sciences, Living in Harmony with the Physical World, Knowledge, Learning and Educational Systems and Good Governance and the Role of Leaders.

This International Dialogue, within the context of honouring the 60 years of teaching and travelling of Swami Veda Bharati, explored how yoga (and other ancient) sciences influences the things we do in today's world, and how these sciences could help shaping our world of tomorrow. One of the overarching questions for this dialogue was: Will the application of holistic approaches, known from the ancient sciences, take us beyond concepts and minds i.e. beyond the material world and show us the images of a non-material world characterized by 'fullness' or 'completeness'?
