Sustainable Planning

"Without showing sanctity to our nature there will be no sustainable development."
Quote from Swami Veda Bharati

In the master planning, with a sustainable and spiritual approach, which is applied in the projects of the Foundation China-Europe Dialogue and Exchange for Sustainable Development (CE-DESD), project areas are source areas of (re-)balancing the Earth. The sustainable approach of development applied in the CE-DESD Projects creates cycles, within the plan of the project area, which synchronize according the following principles in three steps: (1) purify all incoming flows before entering the project area, (2) prevent unnecessary use of all flows and therefore use these flows wisely, (3) re-use all flows in the project area and purify all outgoing flows before departing the project area. This type of advanced planning is organic to the very essence of the nature of ecosystems, both natural and urban ecosystems.

In the spiritual approach of the CE-DESD Projects, project areas are connected with each other on the level of purification or re-balance of the Earth. The spiritual approach of the CE-DESD Projects is embedded in the ancient methods of planning such as Feng Shui (China) and Vaastu Shastra (India). These ancient planning traditions offer systems of building technology and spatial planning, based on the fundamental premise that the Earth is a living organism out of which other living creatures and organic forms emerge, also defined as ecosystems.

The areas of the CE-DESD Projects are considered part of the total ecosystem of the Earth. In the master planning applied the purification or re-balance function of project areas are optimized in order for these project areas to function as source areas for the Earth in finding (new) ecological balances with higher level of quality of life.

The overall mission of the master planning of the CEDESD Projects is: to re-balance resources as an educational, experiential and inspirational example for harmony between the physical and non-physical aspects of life in a sustainable and spiritual way. Within the CE-DESD Projects the aim is to re-balance resources, especially the natural resources and cultural resources. Within the resources the focus is on the four major components of an ecosystem, which are Air, Energy, Earth (or soil) and Water.

The CE-DESD Projects envision becoming example or demonstration projects for sustainable and spiritual development. These projects will demonstrate how sustainability and spirituality works, especially concerning the four elements Air, Energy, Earth (or soil) and Water on different levels and details, conceptually and practically, through education, experimentation and inspiration.
